GPT-6 comes to free ChatGPT, with interactive answers
OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 in ChatGPT on every plan, including the free one, with “Intelligent UI”: answers with charts, buttons and mini tools.
What it is
On 7 October 2026 OpenAI announced it is bringing GPT-6 to ChatGPT chat on every plan. The Free and Go plans use GPT-6 Luna, and Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise use GPT-6 Sol. The rollout started that day on paid plans and the next day on free ones.
Why it matters
The most visible change is Intelligent UI: instead of always answering with text, ChatGPT can show charts, buttons, forms or small tools inside the conversation. OpenAI also says it now starts answering while it is still thinking, so you wait less.
What to keep in mind
It is a change to chat. According to OpenAI, the models in its Work and Codex products don’t change with this launch. Faster doesn’t mean infallible: keep checking important facts.
How to try it
Open chatgpt.com or the app and ask for something visual, for example: “make me a calculator to split dinner between 6 people”. The rollout is gradual.
